“The Pete” is back! Action at the legendary Petersen Classic begins this weekend, April 29, 2016 at Brunswick Zone in River Grove, Illinois.  Conveniently located just outside of Chicago, this ideal location offers bowlers – especially out of towners – a convenient destination with easy access to  O’Hare International airport, hotels, and area attractions.

Thousands of bowlers will come together for this competition from April 29 – September 5, 2016.

The Petesen boasts a rich prize fund with top prizes in the singles event, based on 5,000 entries, including:  $20,000 first place, $10,000 second place, $4,000 third place, plus $850 for 100th place.  Thousands of dollars in additional prizes will be awarded in the singles event for pins over average, high games, squad prizes, senior prizes, and many more categories.  Bowlers can enter up to six events, including doubles team, all events, pins over average, squad prize, women only POA and a hotel prize list.

The tournament has a reputation of being one of the fairest tournaments around, offering an equal opportunity to share in the prize money, regardless if you are new to the Petersen Classic or a veteran Petersen bowler.  For this reason many bowlers have been coming back year after year (some 10, 20 or even 30 years or more) for their share in the prize money and to experience the fun and tradition of this historic tournament.   More than $31 million in prize money has been awarded to over 850,000 bowlers since the Petersen was founded in 1921.
