News from the “Pete”

UPDATED JUNE 16, 2021 – We had only two bowlers break into the top 10 singles positions coming out of our seventh week of competition at the 2021 Pete, but neither was able to climb into that coveted #1 spot. Local bowler Alan Blome (Racine, WI) remains our tournament leader with his 1,597 eight-game tally.

The closest anyone would come this past week was Kevin Flanagan (Cedar Rapids, IA) whose 1,552 was good enough for 6th place, but still 46 pins shy of surpassing the current first place score. Moving into 9th place by a single pin was Cameron Nelson (Cincinnati, OH) with his score of 1,513. More Petersen Classic action continues this weekend at Bowlero Wauwatosa.

The first threat to take over the lead came on Saturday when Curtis Brandon from Manson, NC zeroed in on the lead only to fall short by a single pin with his 1,596. Then on Sunday, Matt Tod from St. Charles, MO rolled a 280 in his third game and seemed to be in a comfortable spot with an 829 after 4 games. Three sub-200 games in his last 4 games left him 23 pins shy of the lead sitting in third place with a 1,574. The last notable score of the weekend saw Andrew Orf from St. Louis, MO roll a nice 1,531 to move him into 6th place in the Pete Classic singles.
